Not exactly drafted for success.

Expected Starters Sunday:

1st Rounders (2): Lee Evans, Eric Wood

2nd Rounders (1): Andy Levitre

5th Rounder (1): Geoff Hangartner

7th Rounders (3): Ryan Fitzpatrick, Steve Johnson, Demetrius Bell

Undrafted (4): Cordaro Howard, Fred Jackson, Corey McIntyre, Jonathan Stupar

That's 7 of 11 starters drafted in the seventh round, or not at all.

great post but when you consider
Trent, Marshawn and Hardy .... it kind of goes out the window.

yeah, and Spiller too (and Nelson was a 4th rounder)

But still.. During a real NFL football game this Sunday, that's the starting lineup being rolled out.

When was the last time a 7th round quarterback, a UDFA RB and a UDFA FB all started for an NFL team in the new era?

but look on the other side of the ball. there are ton of 1st and second rounders on our team. I think thre are 8 1st or second rounders on the defensive 11. And they suck even more.

1. whitner (1st)
2. stroud (1st)
3. mckelvin (1st)
4. poz (second)
5. maybin (1st)
6. byrd (second)
7. troupe (second)
8. florence (i think was a second)
9. kelsay (second)

So it's not where you are drafted. its what you get out of your crew. we've gotten nothing.

Arizona is starting an UDFA QB (Max Hall), a 5th round RB (Tim Hightower) and a 6th round FB on his 3rd team (Reagan Maui'a).

That's close.

Doh! Sometimes you miss what is right in front of you.

It varies week to week depending on opponent. For instance, last week Danny Woodhead took more snaps than any other back because they were spreading the field against the Ravens. They have had other weeks where they played TEs a lot more. They don't use a FB much, so Morris doesn't get a lot of run.

When Taylor returns him and Green-Ellis will probably split carries, with Woodhead playing on passing downs. The Jets screwed up cutting Woodhead, who is a perfect fit for the Pats system and is going to be a good player for them for a while. The Pats don't use the FB much, so Morris doesn't play a lot.

The Pats actually have quite a few undrafted players who play some sort of role for them. Green-Ellis, Woodhead, Brian Hoyer (who shows real command as a QB), Wes Welker, Stephen Neal, Mike Wright, Tracy White, Gary Guyton, Dane Fletcher and Kyle Arrington. Kyle Love and Mark LeVoir are a couple others, although they usually are inactive. Brandon Deadrick, Myron Pryor, Julian Edelman, Matthew Slater and Brady are late-round guys who play roles. They have had real luck with guys who weren't highly thought of but become solid role players for them (or more).

proves they are pathetic at drafting and should have fired everyone involved a long time ago..

Was just going to write similar. Just proves we stink at drafting. We kinda knew that. LOL
