I know I have always got a lot of crap on here for my Tim Thomas homerism... but have you guys seen his play this season?

4-0 136 Saves and a .978 Save %

I dont know if it's the new mask or the new hip, but he looks like the old TTT. He absolutely dominated the Caps the last two games.

You mean the one from 2 years ago that had one really good season thanks in large part to the team in front of him? Seriously, that's the only really good year he's ever had. Not discounting his play so far this season, but you really do make him out to be more than he is.

Generally I agree with BMN, but as long as TTT is taking the Caps down a peg, I'll refrain from knocking him.

Hopefully Thomas keeps playing well and gets the nod against Buffalo.

I'd much rather see the Sabres face him than Tuuuuuuuuuuuka.

Tuukka will probably go Sat night against the Rags.

The Bruins are playing ridiculous hockey right now.

Oh, be nice to MBB.

He is a rare poster on this board. A fan of another team but not a total douche to us and actually knows what he's talking about.

If we're removing douches from the Sabres forum, I think we need to start with some of our own Sabres fans first.

That would be the smart move for Boston. He owns Buffalo for the most part, while Buffalo pretty much owns Thomas.

Thomas just happens to be playing behind a very good defensive team and he is pretty hot right now. He is not and never has been, a top tier goalie.

Interesting fact about Tim Thomas:

He was Ryan Miller's backup in the Olympics and the only game action he saw was in mop up duty of a USA blowout.

I think the real case of this is who has the better team surrounding him.

Boston has a better team, as evidenced by Tuukka being able to come right in and play as well as he did. I highly doubt Thomas would be as stellar this season if he had to face numerous 2 on 1, 3 on 2, and breakaways per game that Miller has to face. Miller has not been great this year, but that isn't all on him.

This "rivalry" would be so much better if those vaginas in Boston would actually play Thomas against the Sabres. Instead they insist on throwing Tuukka out there every time it seems.

In all honesty Thomas was not his self last year, he simply wasnt. The Bruins are on a tear right now. But they have not played well offensively this year, it's been Thomas keeping them in games. Look at Tuukka's numbers compared to Thomas, same team... He's just playing at 100% again.

I understand I am a huge Thomas fanboy so everything I say is a bit skewed but, he's playing as well as his numbers show.

They give Tuukka the soft teams ;)

I think Julien wanted much more of a balance between the two goalies for sure. Tuukka started so slow that he had no choice.

I take no offense in that. The Sabres suck this year and they have played against an absurd amount of backup goalies throughout the season.

And I realize Boston struggles offensively, but in the games I've seen they are strong defensively. My point was more that the Sabres are awful defensively and Miller is consistently having to bail them out, a lot more than he should have to.

Indeed you did. The B's are going to have to do some Shuffling now that Savard is out. Horton and Ryder have been terrible I cant tell you how many open chances those two have whiffed on.

If it isn't Lucic or Krejci or Marchand and Recchi this team looks sad.

That Savard contract is gonna be a mess if he continues to get head injuries. After so many of them, the player becomes pretty much useless. (Ex. Tim Connolly)

I had to come back to this thread... Thomas is now the media and fan darling.

I jumped on the drivers seat of this bandwagon years ago much to the dismay of those in this forum... I sat through countless Tuukka time fanboys...

This thread and this forum is one of the only things I have that shows I wasnt just some bandwagon hopper.

Conn Smythe, Stanley Cup... Vezina on the 22nd
An amazing season for TTT. Who in just 5 years has cemeted himself as the best goaltender to ever wear the spoked B (in the modern game, Tiny Thompson has insane numbers).

If you're not breaking my balls then your high. No matter what the value... nothing we get in return performs the way he just did. Take him off the team and add two top forwards and we go home against TB.

Let Rask have a Run at it, He has already won a playoff series 2 season ago.
I am not busting balls, I would trade him, if I was Neely. The public backlash would be HUGE, just like the Sox trading Nomar. but if they traded him and Won another cup, the public would shut up.
