Then-IPD detective met with Colts owner after his name showed up in another probe.
A retired Indianapolis Police Department detective said Monday that she talked to Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay about problems with prescription drugs as long ago as 1995.
The Irsay prescription drug investigation was first reported in November by WTHR (Channel 13), The Star's news-gathering partner. Irsay back then issued a statement admitting he had sought treatment for his dependence on pain medications.
An NFL spokesman told The Star at the time that Irsay had "discussed his medical issues with Commissioner (Paul) Tagliabue on several recent occasions."...
