yeah...fluke?? idk if it was a fluke...but teams have learned not to throw in his direction...that's the noticeable difference on defense this season...once we have a run defense the byrd we know will be back

Was a guy in the right place at the right time a lot last year.

I would say this defense has done absolutely nothing except let the other teams running backs have great games.

You made the same thread in week 1, at least your consistent.

Outside of Kyle Williams no one is making any real plays.

Whitner gets killed. The Byrd man doesn't. As bad as whitner is, he is our best safety by default

No he's not. Byrd had a great year, especially for a rookie. Whitner has had only a few great plays in his career.

The DB's are not going to get many picks when there is never any pressure on the QB.

i have a hard time singling out the safeties when give up 200+ yards rushing every game like its our job.

kyle williams did pretty much single-handily shut down KC today though. everyone else on this defense is average to completely pathetic.

Wilson is a much better player than Byrd, but htis is a rebuilding year and Byrd is learning a new system, and that is likely why he is in there.

Byrd was good in the cover 2 because he is a coverage safety...he doesn't fit the 3-4 defense...just like 99 percent of the other players starting on it.

This may be truer than most things said about Byrd this year, It should also be a concern that he always seems to be nursing some injury. Groin or whatever. I hope he doesn't end up being another Youboty. Talented, but never healthy.

What about the rest of the defense? Andra Davis - 1 INT... Everybody else 0. Andra Davis, Drayton Florence, Akin Ayodele, and Leodis McKelvin - 1 FF... Everybody else 0.

Sure, Byrd is not producing this season, but what's the point of laying all the blame on him. The whole defense is awful.
