    Shawne Merriman Hitting Waivers Today

Assuming he passes his physical with the team. Perhaps we passed on Gibson to pick this guy up?

The 2005 Defensive Rookie of the Year looks set to join a future Hall of Fame wide receiver on Tuesday's NFL waiver wire.

So the Bills can claim Merriman, Gibson, and Moss off waivers?

Looks like they can upgrade a few positions if they wanted to.

i'd rather have youth and upside, than merriman and declining ability. but truthfully, the front 7 is so god awful, and most of our team is so bad that even if we cut people, i can't imagine people rushing in to pick them up.

I think Merriman makes more sense for the team. Although, I'm not sure that he's any less of a gamble than Moss.

The Gibson kid was unproven but probably the best option for this team.

I'm all for this one. Pick him up.

Was Nix in SD when they drafted him?

So, let me get this straight. The waiver order is from the 2009 final standings and not the current standings?

It should be from the current standings. Where did you see that it was from 2009 final standings?

Here. This should help those confused with the waiver order right now.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- To analyze the likelihood of your favorite team being awarded Randy Moss through waivers, it's a good idea to know the waiver order.

He should be picked up. We have nothing at OLB and if Merriman can get over his injury and get back to playing high level ball he is worth it.

His contract is not even that much and it's not like we are using the cap space for anything at the moment.

This would've made sense 2 weeks ago when we ran a 3-4 instead of a 4-3 now. So you Kelsay and Merriman in space with a RB or TE?

I think Merriman on one leg is better than some of the LBs we have on two. I'll actually be a little peeved if they didn't try this out. There is no way his cap hit is that much.

I read that in the Moss thread saying it's based off last year's standings. I always thought it was from the current year, which I now see was correct.

I think it goes by last year's standings only for a few weeks of the year. When enough games are played to determine the quality of a team, it changes to the current standings.

So people want to pick up Merriman, and Moss...I'm sorry but when did we become playoff contenders who need those extra pieces to go all the way?
