But I still maintain that it could be justified for improving the team next year and beyond.

It will cost us 3 million dollars. Ideally if Moss does not report, which is a distinct possibility if the Bills do claim him, not even that amount.

By the end of the season, Moss becomes a FA. He signs somewhere else. I have to believe that at this stage, Moss would take the biggest contract he could get - he *****ed about this in NE. In that case, the Bills could be in line for a mid-round compensatory pick ...

... if the Bills are not planning to dip into FA pool deep and heavy in 2011, that is.

Moss has said that he won't report to a team that isn't a contender for a ring and is willing to sit out the rest of the season.

Well if they claim him and he doesn't show up, what do they lose? I say claim em' both.

No thanks. Moss hasn't been productive this season with Brady and Favre throwing to him. Besdies, Johnson and Parrish are making plays for us. I don't want to mess with the chemistry Fitz has with the receivers right now.

I really like them actually making the claim on Merriman, but I'd check out on them for the season if they claim that piece of **** Moss.

If they claim Merriman does their priority being #1 in wavier claim change?
Would they drop like in fantasy football/baseball?

It just makes sense to get the draft pick

And to block the possibility of him going to the Jets, Miami, or back to NE...

No, Bills are still #1.

Let him go anywhere besides Buffalo.

Doesn't Moss sitting out net Buffalo a high draft pick?

Too late now. Bills failed to claim Moss when they had the chance. New England now has the chance to do it, if not he'll become an unrestricted FA and can sign with any team.

Who cares if they have him?

For one, the Jets already said no.

Two, the Bills are 0-7 so I don't think it matters at this point.

New England is in line with the other 30 teams, not including Buffalo. And if they get him, who cares?

Not me. Just stating the facts. The Bills, along with almost every other NFL team had their chance to claim him and passed. This is America, I am still allowed to contribute to the conversation, no?

The Titans didn't pass.

I don't. Doesn't affect this team at all.
