As promised, here is my weekly thread from a visiting fan forum.
Lions Rush O vs. Bills Rush D
Lions Jahvid Best has been a pleasant surprise - for the first few weeks. Ever since the turf toe came into play, the Lions run game has been stuck in neutral. Best showed promise early but has struggled as of late and Kevin Smith has gobbled up some carries. The Bills are giving up 178 yards a game on the ground. Andre Davis has been placed on IR. If Best wants to get back on track, this better be the week as the Lions will need him.

Lions Pass O vs. Bills Pass D
Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson have been very productive for the Lions this year - when Shaun Hill or Matt Stafford throws them the ball. (I'm not counting Calvin's 87 yard td catch for Stanton as it was a 20 yard pass, two guys fell down and Calvin glided the rest of the way) Stafford is out with a shoulder, IR this week, write it in stone. Shaun Hill will want to play, but why risk him like Stafford at this point? That means Drew Stanton for the Lions. Notice I haven't said anything about the Bills Pass D?

Bills Rush O vs. Lions Rush D
The Bills are 18th in the league in rushing at 105 yards a game. Fred Jackson is averaging 3.8 yards per carry, and, you have to think they thought CJ Spiller would be doing more than he is. The Lions Rush D should be able to contain the running game and force the Bills to throw the ball. The Bills offensive line is not exactly loaded with All Pro players.

Bills Pass O vs. Lions Pass D
The Bills are throwing for 200 yards a game this season, but do not be fooled by that total. Trent Edwards started and played the first two games for the Bills and he is now lodged squarely on Jacksonville's bench. Apparently, Stanford grads are not as astute as Harvard grads as Ryan Fitzpatrick has thrown for 1500 yards and 13 scores over the last 6 games. The Lions pass D has gotten better and Roscoe Parrish going on IR could benefit the Lions. However, after the debacle last week, I'm going against the Lions Pass D again.
EDGE: Bills
PREDICTION
What do the Lions have left emotionally? As Dominic Raiola said that the Jets loss was the worst of his 10 year career. This was after one of the best victories during that same time frame. The Bills are 0-8 and trying to equal the Lions futility of 2008. Stafford out, Hill most likely out. Stanton in. At least we keep one record.
Bills 24, Lions 18
