Over the last two seasons, Longhorn running Tre' Newton has struggled with injuries, including a hip pointer this season. A bigger concern, however, for the young man and his family has been his struggles with concussions.
Perhaps influenced by all the recent news about the long-term dangers of head injuries incurred from playing football, Newton has decided that he will no longer continue playing football at Texas.
Newton was an NFL prospect after having 552 yards and 6 TD's as a Freshman at Texas. Sad to see his career end due to concussions.
