LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The injury epidemic that ravaged the Bears last season shouldn't adversely affect the team in 2003. In fact, coach Dick Jauron expects the players who went down in 2002 to return and perform as well as they did before getting hurt.
"They have to, and I believe that they will," Jauron said. "They were all serious enough injuries that they kept them out for a year, but at least to this point none of them seem to be injuries that will affect their football-playing ability in the short term or the long term.
"When they come back they should be ready to go. Most of them are back now and a lot of them will be back at the end of this month and certainly by training camp."...
