Opinion: Cheer for the underdog, from Buffalo to Kandahar
"I'm no psychologist.
I'm a professional infantry soldier, and a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan (which should give me enough street cred to write an article linking Veterans Day and pro football).
If I were a psychologist, though, I'm guessing someone would have taught me that the first coherent thought we have after waking up is probably pretty important, especially if it's something we never would have thought otherwise.
This morning, I woke up thinking "Man, I hope Buffalo wins this weekend."
