ooops! This new Windows Premium 7 is going to take a little getting used to. Pardon the copies of these stats I put in here. I'd be fine if we drafted him instead of Luck! He puts up numbers religiously in a pro-style offense.

Great point! I think no matter what happens and wherever we draft Nix is going to pick us a winner! Luck, Mallett, Dareus, Bowers, Green...how can you screw a pick up if you are in the top five of the draft?

Hold those comments...I know, we have shown that in the last ten years we are great at screwing it up!

well to be fair the system mallet plays in is designed to put up huge numbers like that, compared to luck's hard nose power NFL sytle offense.

Just look at how mallet's back up performed when he was out....

If he hadn't been knocked out of the game Arkansas would have beaten Auburn and we wouldn't be even wondering if he's better than Luck, we would all know he is.

I luv that people look at Stats.
If you look at stst the Cam Newton is the #1 pick in the draft...

Stats mean absolutely CRAP going in the NFL I have seen Mallett play for the past few years. He is a good QB with a great ARM but don't even think of comparing him to Andrew Luck.....Sorry Luck is the best QB in the this draft and I was all about Locker going into the season.

On straight talent and physical tools, Locker is the top guy.

What has yet to be determined is if he can learn and run an NFL offense.

If so, he's easily the best QB out of this class. If not, he'll bust faster than Akili Smith.

Bump. Mallett has a big challenge ahead of him in LSU. Game starts in less than 30 minutes and should be really fun to watch. I'm hoping for a great game out of him and still think he'd be a pretty good consolation prize instead of Luck.

Mallett will get blitzed to death in the NFL. He is a statue ala Drew Bledsoe and doesn't have as much talent as Drew had.

If he had 5 pro bowl olinemen in front of him he might be good! But haven't we already been down that road before??????

Mallett appears to have good pocket presence and awareness. It's not like Brady and Manning are mobile and they do just fine. Manning doesn't have a good offensive line either.

No he doesn't. Comparing him to Brady and Manning, who have some of the best pocket presence ever, ruins any chance of credibility.

I would be fine with drafting Mallet in the top 10, but not top 5, if he has a good character and no off the field concerns.

It's kind of a mute point since we have next to zero chance of drafting Luck at this point. If you want to make a better comparison, you might as well compare Mallet to Newton since those 2 are far more likely to get drafted by this team than Luck. JMO.

Mallett did enough to help Arkansas beat LSU today, and I like what I've seen out of him so far this year...However, there are still 6 games left this season, so until we know what the Bills actual draft position is, it will be hard to predict how their big board will shake out. Not many people were speculating about CJ Spiller as the Bills pick week 12 of last season, were they?

Some of Mallett's INTs today and this season have been very awful plays. I think Mallett will be an ok QB, but i think as a Buffalo Bill he'd get killed by the media and fans. The guy is very careless with the ball. The under thrown INT today was horrific, the dude had all the time in the world and just under threw it. You can't teach that, either he has it or not.

Yeah, Joe Flacco and Mark Sanchez are lanky QB's in the same situation...I'm glad they are examples of how this type of QB sucks in the NFL. Drew Bledsoe sucked too. Why would we want anyone that puts up numbers? Let's just keep acquiring other teams trash and hope for a diamond...

Totally agree.

Yeah, why would we want anyone with a proven statistical track record of more than one year in college? That was so stupid of me to think. Man, look at the four year NCAA record that Phillip Rivers had, and Peyton Manning and many others. I mean, why not just go with your hunch on a player even if he only has one year to hang his hat on from a good college season. We should just base our opinion of him on how he looks in a uniform and the one year of juicy numbers he had or whether he plays with his cleats laced or not and of course...base our strong opinions on something other than three or four years of consistant, SOLID stats against some of the best teams in the NCAA.

For christ sake, how come I never got graded on how good I looked sitting there at my desk in high school taking a test rather than my actual test score? That's BS! I looked damn good sitting there with six finely sharpened pencils, my test sheet placed squarely in the center of my desk, shirt and tie with my hair combed neatly. Definitely first round material!

Stats! Who the hell would use a player's statistics during his college career to judge how good he is or even to integrate that into the criteria of basing your draft selection on him along with game film, character evaluation and comparative analysis with other prospects? Probably just Buffalo Bill's draft scouts...

Stats aren't the only part of the criteria but they are a strong part. People use statistical information to grade performance in all aspects of life. Surely, one should evaluate game film, conduct background checks, and test individual physical abilities besides evaluating stats when selecting a player in the draft. There are many other factors as well, but to be a moron and post that stats are ******ed to use significantly to judge the level of where someone ranks in your draft list is absurd.

Wake up

Wake upEasy man.

Your entitled to look at anything you like. I agreed with Tampa that Luck is the best QB prospect in this upcoming draft. That's my opinion. I base my opinion on a whole host of things, I watch them play, I try to look at the specific attributes that usually translate to success, I look at the system, I look at what I hear and read on character, and yes I look at stats.

Why would anyone not look at everything? That includes stats.

And, as I have said over many years now, I provide an opinion, not facts. I try to get the best guess I can on players, but even then it is simply an educated guess. I have been wrong and will be wrong again. Here, I simply provide an opinion because I like doing it.

Your not wrong for your post, or for looking at stats. I simply agreed that Luck is the best prospect and that you don't look only at stats.

and I would pick Luck over Mallett in a heart beat but I'd guess he'll be gone before we pick...we'll see. That being said, Do you pick someone like Mallett at #4 or the second DL stud on the board? At this point, I hope that Luck doesn't enter the draft so it makes the choice easier.
