Does Arthur Moats factor in as our longterm starting OLB?

A 6th round rookie who seems to be hitting his stride the past two games.

Is it possible that with another season under his belt, this kid could be an excellent player/starter for us?

I like his upside and I like how he has progressed as the season has went on.

Looks purely like a pass rusher to me. I don't really see him against the run or in coverage. Not saying that's bad, but he looks like a one-dimensional player. Hopefully he turns into a monster at getting to the QB, we won't need him to do anything else. I'd be happy with a solid pass rushing specialist, at least to make us forget Maybin.

He's playing better as the season progresses, and starting to show a knack for getting to the QB.

The guy is going to be a force in the next few years, especially against the pass. I'm excited about him.

Definitely. Someone should look up his pressures, he may not have the sacks, but he brings decent heat off the edge. It's not like we have anyone else right now, or in the very short term.

hes literally a clone as far as size speed and style of james harrison... it took harrison a few years, i think if moats gets a little stronger he could be really good... well see....

Can't wait to bump some of those "Moats sucks" threads from earlier this year.

So basically he's everything Aaron Maybin was supposed to be-- for a lot lower price!

I'll take it. This team still needs a lot of help at LB but you can pencil in Moats as a potential player of the future.

I will say it like this. He's signed for many more years, he's getting better, but isn't a stud yet. Can he be part of the equation long term? he's going to be on the team, so we will see. Should we consider this spot filled and not look to get significantly better? Absolutely not. Not on a 3 win team. Besides, they typically get rotated at some frequency, and we can always use other quality guys.

For a FCS prospect, his development is rather impressive.

I could have sworn that was Scott hitting Delhomme's arm on the McKelvin INT. Moats forced the fumble that the refs overturned.
