and if he doesnt what would you do specifically at the olb spot?

even if he stays would you still draft a top 34 rush linebacker in first 3 rounds? or pick one up in free agency like antwan barnes?

not sure what the bills would do if they take dareus or clayborn with their pick... 34olb seems like a big question mark especially since you must have 2 legit pass rushers, i dont think kelsay is that... moats could be...

Highly doubt he does. And as of right now, where would he line up? Kelsay isn't going anywhere and Moats looks like he is going to be a starter for years to come. I see it very unlikely he is here next season.

should the bills just sign a solid pass rusher like antwan barnes? or draft someone in rd 2, 3, 4, if so who?

I doubt we even offer him a contract

i'd be interested to see if anyone signs him in the offseason. a guy on the decline, gets a shot to show he's for real, and he leaves after 15 minutes. unless a team wants a depth player and he is willing to sign for next to nothing, he might just be finished.

what would you guys do to aquire a 34olb pass rusher?

Better question: why haven't the Bills filed a complaint with the Chargers for waiving an injured player?

i'd hold steady in my rebuild. i'd fix the interior of the line and get another DE for depth and to push everyone. I'd get an ILB to go with poz, but better in coverage. maybe moatts is the ILB guy if they can get a truly gifted game changing OLB. Moats is great rushign the passer.

i wonder what nix thinks about jeremy beal, von miller, justin houston? they all should go in the 2nd round area, maybe miller goes late first...

i think the obvious needs are rt, 34de, 34olb 34ilb and depth...

the player that can have the most impact would be a 34olb rushing the passer...

If by resign you mean quit, then yes. At least he should.

i dont think he will but i sure want him too

he needs to prove he can still play and why not better than here?

he is not gonna get big time money anywhere so he knows NIX make it happen if it doesnt work oh well

I have a hunch Merriman will sign a one year deal for chump money. It will be the only offer he gets.

an even better question is how stupid is buffalo to sign a guy who constantly gets reinjured in practice?

no freakin way. He'll be lucky to sign a contract. He's not getting a tag that pays him avg. of the top 5 at his position.

there is no downside to signing him to a one year deal at the small pricepoint he currently deserves. Bring him to camp like all the undrafted FAs and other fodder. If he's healthy and looks like he can contribute, great. If not, no harm done.

I wouldn't doubt at all if Nix has some short term deal deal lined up with him with a good incentives package that doesn't break the bank. Not sure of it, or if Merriman would sign, but the whole thing seemed a little strange to me, especially when they IR'd him and he said he had this the whole time. I doubt anyone will give him anything much more than veteran minimum right off the bat.

yeah i agree with that sentiment... i think even if merriman is healthy through mini camp and signs etc, buffalo is still taking a pass rusher in the first round

we cant count on merriman staying healthy.... kerrigan or quinn...

Resigns? Re-signs?

Not a chance in hell. The guy was supposedly healthy to play and about 10 minutes into the first practice he says he hurts himself. Give me a break.

Even if he wasn't faking then why would we want him anyway? He can't stay healthy anymore. Ever since he got busted for steroids he hasn't been anything.
