TAMPA - With two extra weeks of training camp and an extra preseason game, the Bucs needed depth in the punting department and got that Tuesday with the re-signing of veteran punter Tom Tupa.

The team also added receiver/returner Reggie Barlow, who also played in Tampa Bay last season.

Both veterans signed one-year deals with terms undisclosed.

Tupa, entering his 15th season, played for the Bucs last year and was at the team's ring ceremony Saturday night. The Bucs have been impressed with the play of undrafted free-agent punter Andy Groom, who played an instrumental role in Ohio State's national championship run. But the length of training camp makes another veteran kicker a necessity.

Tupa, a former Ohio State quarterback and punter who has played in 187 games for six teams, has averaged 43.6 yards on 681 career punts.
