There is no reason to win at this point.

For all the education and practice each of us undergoes, the achievment of mastery is ultimately the outcome of a personal quest for understanding.

If the Bills organization had half a brain, they would play Brohm for some, if not all of this game. Not that I want to see him, but because it would help them secure a better draft position.

actually, you put a player like Brohm into the game and it just might backfire. He has something to prove and is playing for a job.

Play to win and that will carry over to next year.
Never play to lose, if you play to lose every player and coach should be fired tomorrow....

I don't want the Bills to try to lose, but if they do lose, it's not like I am going to be furious as I usually am.

ther is no way a team will purposly loose. the league would fine the crap out of an organization and the scandel would be embarrasing to the league.
everyone KNOWS that FANS want to loose to gain better draft position, and teams may play some scrubs if they have secured a playoff position, but Ive NEVER seen a team tank on purpose... never.

There is every reason to win. It is the single objective of playing.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

While I agree with you, a drop from the possible #2 pick to #9 is quite a drop off considering they will be going up against possibly backups.

                          Re: Draft positioning

I don't get the "they have to win" mentality. I obviously root for them to win on a weekly basis, but at this point with one game left, it does nothing but hurt them in the draft. I would think if you care about the future then you'd understand that losing is the best case scenario.

And I don't think winning will carry over to next season like a bowl win in college might. Who knows how many players on Sunday will even be on the team next opening day.

Always go for the win, and then draft wisely at whatever position you have in the draft. How do the Pats, Colts and Steelers manage to win, and stay on top at the same time?
