    right side of oline...

would anyone be upset if we took care of defense with free agency, like picking up paul soliai, etc

and then used our 2-4th rds to get a rt and rg, along with moving wood to center.

i was thinking that the reason gailey does not have much confidence in the run game is because of this.

would you take someone like gabe carimi in rd 2 and john moffitt in rd 3?

I don't care how we get the talent, as long as we get it. We're not going to be able to upgrade everywhere with just one or the other, so we have to get the most we can out of both FA and the draft.

getting moffitt and carimi would solidify the oline for years. it would help us rest the d because we will be able to run the ball. it would help out a lot...

I don't think we draft any interior OL if the group we have is under contract.

Aside from Wood and Levitre we have Hangartner, Urbik, Rinehart and Codaro to pull 1 starter and up to 2 interior back-ups from. At least 1 of those 4 will not be on the 53 next year as it is... And I don't see any 4th round rookie coming in and bumping any of these guys.

However, we do need another tackle to either start or back-up. Other than Bell we currently have Wrotto, Pears and Wang. I think they'll give Wang another year... But Gailey already said he was gonna start Pears so they could evaluate him further. That tells me that, in addition to Bell and Wang, they'll only keep 1 of Wrotto or Pears. We'll need to draft 1 T to round out the group for the 53.

The only thing that blows this up is if they move Levitre to T... Then the emphasis switches to interior.

Of course, I'm only projecting the final 53... And I'm certain we'll have additional camp fodder rounding out the initial 80 something... But I doubt they come from draft picks. We need each draft pick to fill a hole and make the 53... And IMO there's only room for 1 draft pick on the OL... Bell, Levitre, Wood, Urbik, Wrotto (or Pears), Wang, Hangartner, Rinehart (or Codaro), and draft pick makes 9.

My remaining 7 picks would be...
          (1) QB
          (5) front 7
          (1) CB

Only think I would add would be a tight end later in the draft. MAYBE.

I totally agree concerning TE. We need to upgrade this position... But I wanna take a closer look at front 7...

Starting LB's like it or not:
Poz - Will probably eventually get another contract with Bills.
                  Moats
Draft pick or FA or group C
Draft pick or FA or group C

                  Back-up LB's:
                  Ayodele
                  Torbor
Draft pick or FA or group C
Draft pick or FA or group C

                  Starting DL:
                  Kyle Williams
                  Dwan Edwards
Draft pick or FA or group C

                  Back-up DL:
                  Troupe
                  Kelsay - He's a DE... I don't see him as LB period
Draft pick or FA or group C

                  Group C:
                  Stroud
Maybin - He'll probably see 1 more season or get traded.
                  Spencer Johnson
                  Carrington
                  Batten
                  Coleman
Davis - Probably seen the last of Buffalo
Ellison - Probably seen the last of Buffalo
Merriman - Probably seen the last of Buffalo
McCargo - Probably seen the last of Buffalo

I love to go the free agent route with either Jeromey Clarey or Tyson Clabo

OK John Carimi will be a 1st rounder anyway..
I could see the Bills grabbing Carimi at #4...(not saying this is going to happen but a possiblity). I still think the Bills grab a DL guy at #4 or Newton if the Bills fall in Luv with him.....The Bills will still have to get active on the free agent market. They need LB help and OL depth.

I think he still lacks the strength to be a RT. He has been good at LT, we need a mauler at RT.

I can see him staying for a year or two, until we can properly address the position.

I know Bell is athletic and all, but I just don't see him becoming dominant. I think we really need to get a first-rounder who can and will be dominant on the line, both in run and pass-blocking.

I think Bell would make a fine 3rd OT. I'd love to see a huge mauler on the right side and a top OT on the left, with Bell as the backup on both sides.

At this point, we need every position upgraded, including LT.
