HOUSTON (June 18, 2003) -- The Super Bowl will temper its festivities next winter with ceremonies honoring the seven astronauts who died a year earlier aboard the shuttle Columbia.
Plans have not been finalized, but the NFL and NASA are discussing a way to honor the dead in a game played in the city that is home to the space program and its astronauts.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Commissioner Paul Tagliabue and Houston Texans owner Bob McNair have discussed the issue and it is "prominently on our radar screen." ...
