    Ex-Titan Godfrey visiting Jags today

    The Tennessee Titans' loss could soon be the Jaguars' gain.

    Veteran linebacker Randall Godfrey, released by the Titans yesterday for salary-cap reasons, will work out for the Jaguars today at Alltel Stadium.

    Godfrey, an eighth-year pro who missed eight games last season because of an ankle injury, flew to Jacksonville last night.

    Godfrey impresses Jags

    LB's workout goes well, but other teams interested
    The Jaguars liked what they saw from veteran linebacker Randall Godfrey yesterday.

    Godfrey's workout at Alltel Stadium went so well that the Jaguars immediately began serious negotiations with his agent and hope to sign the former Tennessee Titans standout by the end of the month, team officials said.

    But the Jaguars expect of competition for Godfrey, an eighth-year pro released Wednesday by the Titans in a salary-cap move. Seattle and Green Bay also are interested in him, and Godfrey will visit both in the next week.
