It's on the bottom line on ESPN right now.

Would Harbaugh even think about there?

6-0 in the division was a good mark. I thought he had the Raiders playing decently.

He'll be a 49er coach

Their was some talk yesterday that Davis really likes Josh Mcdaniels.

i'm not that surprised... though I thought Cable did a good job this year; his tenure has been one long controversy after another.

I thought Cable is a jackass, but had the Raiders playing well.

Not a huge shock.

They'll give the job to Hue Jackson now.

Would you, if you had your pick of 3-4 different jobs?

Al Davis is a complete joke as an owner. He actually finally found a coach that was showing some progress with the team and then he fires him. I'm not saying Tom Cable would've ended up a a great long term coach but the team was improving under him and outside of Al Davis' warped mind he probably wouldn't have been fired by any other team in that same situation. He definitely deserved at least another year and would've with probably any other team under them circumstances.

Come on now. It is one of only 32 jobs in the World that a Football Coach would aspire to. Only the FEW in demand Coaches such as Harbaugh or Cowher could even think of turning it down. The vast majority would take it in a heartbeat.

One of the stupidest moves of the offseason. What do the Raiders have? Under Tom Cable this team became competitive again and swept the division. Who thought they would escape the top 10 of the draft this season? They were going uphill and Tom Cable was just pushing them along. If they promote Hue Jackson and have some continuity then this won't be the worst move they could make, but Cable deserves better and he should definitely find another place in the NFL shortly.

As draftboy implied Jackson has been credited with much of that improvement. There has been talk he would be lured away by another team. I think draftboy is correct & Jackson will get the job.

Agreed, but for an assistant to be a HC in the NFL for even just one year, it must be a GREAT feeling even if the owner is a douche.

8-8, 6-0 in the division?

Mistake to let him go.

Agreed. This was Oakland's best season in a long time. I can't figure this move out; then again, it's Al Davis we're talking about.

Gallery has been doing great at guard, all these guys are going to bail out of Oakland.

Edit: Miller would be a great TE, he's a FA. Need to go after this guy, we can't fill every need via the draft.

Al Davis is the dumbest fn owner out there. Oakland fans must want him gone more then we want Wilson gone. Unreal

On the other hand... that translates to 2-8 outside the enclaves of the AFC Worst. Not that impressive.

From that interview, it sounds like Lechler is gonna be looking for a new team for 2011 too.
