This will definitely help their team on the defensive side of the ball. Wade is a great DC.

I'm surprised Kubiak has kept his job but they like their offense philosophy in Houston so they are going to try this experiment and hope Phillips can improve their defense.

I'm shocked Kubiak kept his job as well, but this will make sure he keeps it for a long time. Phillips is a great D coordinator and that was a huge issue with Houston this season.

D has been an issue in Houston since the conception of the franchise.

Very good hire and if Kubiak doesnt work out Wade will be the head coach after next season. Smart move by them

Does this mean Houston will be changing defensive philosophy to the 3-4? If so the transition won't be as simple as some of you make it out to be

This is the biggest problem with hiring a big name coordinator. It looks good on paper, but there is liable to be a power struggle, which hurts chemistry.

Good for Wade. It would have been nice to have the old boy back here, but it was just never going to happen.

That's the position he needs to be in. He needs a strong head coach over him to maintain discipline. I think Phillips is too much of a wuss to be a head coach. Players with strong personalities walk all over him.
