#Buffalo #Bills fired LB's coach Dimonte Cross.

Don't know how reliable this guy is but Coach Sal just retweeted this.

oh good. he was the problem that our undertalented back up linebackers were slow to the ball and blasted off the play. IT's the PLAYERS! Get better ones first, then can coaches if it doesn't work out.

I'm sure Mike Balogun will blossom into a star with a new coach.

Brian is solid. I wouldn't retweet him if I didn't have faith in his sources.

He's a local guy who works in media.

Don't tell me they're blaming our horrible defense on this guy. If anyone deserves to go, it's George Edwards.

This is a results league. Can't say I'm surprised it happened.

I'd say it's trustworthy:

Who's to say Edwards isn't coming up?

I'm hoping so, but it seems like if they were intent on firing Edwards, they would have done so by now. It could still happen, I just don't see it happening this offseason.

i get that its results driven, but this is classic backwards thinking by the bills.

They have an undertalented defense and select new coaches to implement their ideas. They find out pretty conclusively that the players on the defensive side of the ball don't get it and aren't good. The bills schemed their way into better second halves. I'm reluctant to put it on the coaches right now. i want to see them work their magic with a better roster.

I have no problem with Edwards, but the Bills would be really really smart to go hire Kevin Greene who is coaching the LBs for Green Bay.

Every LB they have put on the field since he has been there has excelled:

Mathews, Bishop, Barnett (was there before but improved), Chillar, Hawk, Brad Jones, Poppinga.

Plus he has an intimate knowledge of how Capers does things and can bring that system over.

This guy is going to be a good DC somewhere if not this year then next.

Lets be honest, only a few of us actually knew who the LB coach was. I'm sure they know better than we do whether he was competent or not. They're not pinning anything on him, maybe he was just bad at his job.

Guys he was here under Jauron getting the same poor results at linebacker as well. Good rideance, hopefully George is next.

Why is everybody bashing the Bills over this? We have no idea why he was fired. Maybe he came into the office today and told Chan to go **** himself so Chan fired him. Relax.

Maybe Gailey thought the guy was a good teacher when he was hired, or held onto if you will. After a season, you know who can coach and who can't at the NFL level.

A good coach gets the best out of our talent no matter how piss poor the talent is. I rarely saw that this season from Cross.

This is a refreshing change of pace. We have a HC that not only holds his players accountable but his coaches too!

Too bad he can't hold fans accountable...

Because he did such a bang up job in Cleveland the last 2 years right?

Oh yeah and he definitely loves Buffalo!

Maybe the Bills can get lucky and whoever Cleveland hires at HC doesn't want to retain Rob Ryan. Bring him to replace Georgie!

Glad to see Chan isn't afraid to upgrade on the sidelines also. Hopefully Edwards is next in line.

That being said, even divine intervention from Dick Butkus and Lawrence Taylor wouldn't help the likes of Kelsay, the POS, etc.

Look out for Dave Wannstedt. The guy worked together with Gailey in Pittsburgh and Miami and knows the guy well and would on paper be a great addition to the staff

Then the entire defense could grow porn staches for the '11 season.

If nothing more happens in the way of coach firings for the Bills, then either: Dimonti Cross was a lousy coach, and Gailey saw something in the way he conducted himself that warranted a change, or, the Bills, recognizing the poor play of the defense picked Cross to be the scapegoat in order to appease the fan base. If doesn't necessarily deny the talent issues Buffalo has on defense in either case.

I always hated Cox, I think he was the player I hated most in the NFL at the time, but I would have loved to have had him on the Bills.

Who's available? I mean realistic. Not Singletary who won't go from HC to LB coach in one step. Who's a legit option?

Why not? Jauron went from HC to DB coach in one year.

I think Wannstedt is a real possiblity with the title of Asst. Head Coach as well as linebackers. What would make this great is that Wanny could help game plan for George and if he continues to struggle next year you promote Wanny to DC and can Mr. Edwards.

I know of no fan who was appeased by this move...
