    Updated mock draft?

Now that Newton played himself out of the top 3, how is the mock draft looking?

20/34 for 265 and 2 TDs and 1 INT in a championship game. Add 64 yards rushing as well with a QB rating of 137.82...yeah, he really played his way out of Top 3.

Those are mid 1st round numbers.

Carolina isn't going to take him, and neither will Denver.

If we do, I will be very upset. #3 is too high for him.

      That's top 3 and he's out.

That's crazy talk. He played decently and he led his team to victory. Mid-first round numbers based on one game? I think there's a little over-analyzing here! Are we gonna start worrying about someone's performance quarter-by-quarter next? What about Luck, the Chosen One for this year? What were his numbers in his bowl game?

those numbers didn't paint the right picture based on what I saw. Then again I'm just basing it on one game, last nights game.

Based on watching one game of both qb's, I'd take Mallet.

18/30 for 231 and 2 TD and 2 INT in a championship game. Plus 22 carries for 109 yards rushing.

Not too far from Newton's right?

            See Tim Tebow in 2008.

            Mid 1st.

The problem I see with Newton is he plays a spread offense and does a lot of shotgun sets and does not take many snaps from under center. Not sure how good he is going through his progressions. While I think he could be a good NFL QB no one is sure for sure and if you draft a guy in the top three you better have a guy that is almost NFL ready and almost a can't miss propect. You can't say that about Newton.

Newton should never have been in the top 3 anyway (or top 5, 10, etc.).

I've maintained for the last few weeks that the pick will be between Green, Peterson, and Dareus. Hasn't changed.

Ummm, when did a draft pick's status become determined on one game? Just checkin'

Fitz doesn't play under center...Gailey runs a version of the spread, that is irrelevant.

Yes he does. Newton never takes a single snap from under center.

                          Fitz RARELY is under center...

Yeah I was just going to say the same thing about Fitz. Hell, most of our plays were run out of the spread offense. Now that we know we have some talent at the WR position, I don't see that changing soon.

You're right. In my eyes, Newton wasn't even close to top 10 before the game, and now he's dropping farther for me.

                              But I'm no pro scout.
