It wasn’t a surprising announcement in the least, but Auburn DT Nick Fairley still had to make it official. A day before the league deadline for underclassmen to declare for the NFL draft, Fairley threw his hat in the NFL ring at a 12 noon press conference in his hometown of Mobile.

The Auburn Tigers blog site, which had live access to the announcement confirmed it on twitter. Fairley was reportedly distraught in making his announcement struggling to say he was going pro.

Where do you want to go?

Fairley: "Anywhere, as long as its not cold."

Nice.

66 2/3 chance he is going to be playing in the cold.

That is 66.6666666666666666666666666666666666666% for those of you scoring at home.

Good news is, it's warm here until the end of October.

Why are southern boys such pussies? Better tell him not to watch the playoff games in New England, Pittsburgh, and Chicago this weekend, or he may start considering a different profession.

Good QBs have shown they can win games with no-name WRs. We have some pretty decent ones and a lot of youth at the position.

do we want to draft a guy who doesn't want to play in the cold and who's mentor is jamarcus?

I'm nut a huge Fairley fan. But, I trust in Gailey and Nix to get guys that will play with a high motor every game.

fairley will be a lazy POS once he doesn't receive constant supervision that the college game provides.

I suspect that cold-weather comment is directed at us alone. Fairly probably thinks there are palm trees in Charlotte and Denver.

Maybe he can get Russell to play RT.

That's what playing in the SEC will do to you.

I doubt Fairley makes it to three.

It isn't just 'black folks'. The practice is very popular with kids in general (at least in my area, anyway).

Ridiculous but what can you do.

I think fairley has a high bust potential....he looks to be top heavy and looks soft as others have stated...this cold comment just cements the fact that I hope he doesnt fall to the bills....Dareus i think would be the solid pick if d-line is the choice....Fairley is the hype-child....dareus has been productive and goes about his business.

This guy looked soft too.

The thing about Fairley and Sapp and guys like them is that they are naturally cokc strong and big mofos. Which is a huge advantage over the guys who have to lift and eat like powerlifters to gain/maintain any size.

Remember Bruce Smith was a fatass at one point as well. It's much easier to get huge amounts of strength increases along with increased fitness levels on these body types than it is to do the same with smaller body types.

Aaron Maybin is a classic example of this.

Not interested. One-year wonder and I doubt the Bills select him.

Fixed it for you. And that's an approximate number, btw.
