Found this pretty interesting article on his muay thai training. Guy trains like a warrior, lets hope he can showcase it on the field with the Bills. Honestly...everytime I look at the man he scares me.
BTW...new to this forum, wanted to say whatup and I look forward to future posts. LETS GO BILLS.

first of all, welcome to the forum
secondly, i really am hoping he returns to his normal form we're all used to in the past. by that i mean the pro bowl-calibre player, not the injury-plagued one. time will only tell, i suppose. thanks for the link

Welcome, and I think we're all hoping he can return to Pro Bowl form although many aren't holding their breath. The guy has a lot to prove this season.

We are all hoping that this gamble pays off... but a part of me wonders if he can even make it out of camp.

If the NFL doesn't work out for him, maybe he can get a shot at Brock Lesnar.

Funny that Spikes actually got back to playing football and was mentioned by new coach Harbaugh as a player he wanted and needs.
Merriman is very young so there is alot of upside. We'll see.
I still give him a 20% chance of making the team and contributing.

Is there a more overused cliche on football message boards than "beast"?

20% chance of making the team? I give him about a 100% chance of making the team.

He won't last the season.
I'm not expecting miracles from Merriman, I just hope he can be a solid starter for us. However, if his comments about the Bills doctors doing a really good job of helping him heal and get healthy are true, this could end up being a huge signing for us.

I'll trust the Bills' docs, namely orthopod Andrew Cappuccino. He's the one who helped Kevin Everett walk again. No doubt they were consulted before giving him that 2-year extension. Now it's up to Merriman to fulfill his end of the deal. Get him some better masking agent and let's roll!

Aaron Maybin is a beast too... but that means nothing if neither of these 2 "beasts" can't see the field.

I take a martial arts class that incorporates a lot of kickboxing, and it's no joke. I can't imagine doing it as a supplement to an NFL workout regimen.

He's only doing that stuff in case Tila Tequila shows up in Buffalo.

I'd need half of half of that. I'd take 10 minutes with Tila Tequila.

What we did for Merriman is huge, letting him get healthy was the key. I don't think Merriman will ever get back to the player he was but I still think he will be a valuable asset and be a good player. I think will have a similar career transformation that Takeo had but at a different position.

currently the bills have zero tackling ability in the run or the pass. if merriman is a shell of his former self, he'll still be an upgrade.
