Has started 21 games in a row.

The last time someone else started was November 24.

That stretch includes four back-to-back sets and two western trips.

So much for finding a backup who could give him a rest.

Not that it matters anyway. :sigh:

We need someone like Marty Biron back....someone who can spell Miller from time to time or take over if Miller goes down.

Lalime shouldn't play another game this season. Enroth deserves time.

Lalime looked so excited to go in when Adam spilled Miller.

Then they told him to sit his ass back down in that zamboni entrance.

But backup goalie isn't a serious need for this team.

It really wasn't last year, when Miller was Superman. Now it is, with most opposing teams armed with kryptonite.

Sit on the bench and harass players at the face off's, that was classic.

Not when the coach refuses to use them.

wow.... this is obsurd. Its not like there werent goalies out there.

I think that cat from the sharks signed with the KHL, just got released. Nabokov.

and Biron was still available too before we signed Lalime again. I don't think Lalime is awful, but he hasn't been that good for us either. I just can't see how a guy given a game every 8 to 15 games can be very good when he is thrown in there.

very true even when a guy is struggling you have to let him work through it

Sabres have a back to back this week with Boston on Thursday and the Islanders on Friday. I'll be shocked and annoyed if Ruff doesn't play Lalime in the Friday night game.

as well as their backup goaltender that outduels Ryan Miller. I think this groin injury combined with the total lack of goals scored by the sabres is killing ryan miller. There is no way a goalie can play 80% of the games in the season and watch his team put up 1-2 goals per night with a couple outlier games and expect to win.

but you have to admit that he came through big time tonight. He only allowed one goal, on the PK, and he had basically no shot at it. And he made some amazing saves.

No, I was expressing excitement over moving to within eight points of eighth place.

Can't blame this on Miller - the Sabres have played very erratically this year - and when the opposing team's offense can stay in the Sabres zone for minutes at a time, and keep hammering at the goal - goals will be scored no matter who the goal tender is. He's a top-flight goalie, but he's not a miracle worker.

I'd like to see Miller goals against average if he were playing on a good team like Philly or Vancouver - I'd wager he'd be 'lights out' there.

24 Starts in a row. Lindy still has no idea how to use a backup goalie. He isn't exactly a genius with mixing up lines all the time either.

I think the backup goalie situation will exemplify the difference when new ownership takes over. Under the current regime they do not want to eat the cost of Lalime's contract so they keep him even though he has showed he is no longer a viable backup in this league where the new regime will cut there losses and get a decent backup.

I think Lindy would only rest Miller if the Sabres were scheduled to play a college team - LOL. That's about the only class of opponent that the Sabres have a chance against when LaLime is "tending" the net.

I get the same sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach when Patrick Lalime skates out to the goal as I do when AJ Burnett takes the mound for the Yankees. For cryin' out loud a lifesize cardboard cut-out of Ryan Miller could play goalie about as well as LaLime.

Enroth in tonight, Lalime in ever?

MONTREAL -- We'll get our chance to talk to Lindy Ruff today in the noon hour after the Sabres' morning skate in the Bell Centre, but the coach already made news this morning in his weekly radio appearance on WGR when he announced that Jhonas Enroth will start in goal tonight for the Sabres against the Montreal Canadiens. Ryan Miller's 31-start streak that we examined in this morning's paper is over.
