Gabbert isn't worth the Bills' second round pick, never mind their first.

this pick would just wreak of desperation.

We need a franchise QB. Too bad none are available.

I may think a given mock draft is incredibly stupid whether done by Joe Blow, Mel Kiper, or Don Banks, but I would never invest enough in it emotionally to weep over it. Now, if the Bills actually did draft a QB at #3 overall, I would consider if to be not the wisest pick they could make, but ultimately the test is not my opinion. The real test is how the season goes. If the Bills pick a QB who ends up collecting splinters on his butt, while one or more areas of the team continue to suck badly, one of which might have been improved by a player taken 3rd overall, I would think Nix would and should feel a boatload of pressure.

How much did the Bills actually play their draft picks last year? Not too much. So to me it is fine if a QB is taken and he doesn't play right away.

Almost certainly not going to happen.

That's funny.

It's true. He will not be a franchise QB in the NFL, in any way shape or form.

How does anybody know if a player will or won't be a good player in the NFL? Just askin', because I'd love to take a look in your crystal ball to see what the lottery numbers are tonight!

It's a common expression, don't be so literal.

As far as Gabbert, I'll just base it on the second half of his season. The first half wasn't amazing, but the second wasn't good.

I am not saying this guy may never develop into a decent QB, but 3rd overall?

I wouldn't mind that. Gabbert is the best QB in the draft and would give us the QB of the future that we desperately need. We can go DL and LBs in FA and the rest of the draft.

I don't understand how some NFL analysts and scouts and GM's think that Gabbert is a top 10 pick.... but then Bills fans think they know more and make comments like it would be a dumb pick or he's not worth it?

What makes fans think they know more than people that get paid to evaluate prospects?

What makes fans think they know more than people that get paid to evaluate prospects?Exactly, the teams ultimately decide. If the teams feel the guy is worthy, he is worthy. They are making the picks, so they are determining a guys rank. All of us just have opinions.

As someone who follows the draft, I will not be surprised at all to see the top QB go as high as 3 or possibly even 1. The position is coveted. I think 3 or 4 QB's will go in the 1st round.

To me Gabbert has all the tools to be a very good QB in the NFL. He just needs more polish. If he went to a bad situation and was thrown in right away, it could destroy his career. But with the Bills that wouldn't likely happen. I think Gailey could make him real good.

It's getting almost impossible to find a reputable source who doesn't think Gabbert will go top 15 or even 10.

Our track record vs Their track record.

Us = Orakpo or Oher, Albert or DRC, Revis, Ngata.

Them = Maybin, McKelvin, Lynch, Whitner.

We didn't want to trade back into the first for Losman or McCargo. They did.

I think it's pretty obvious we win.

When I see guys like McShay just trying to get face time by proclaiming Locker a "potential first pick overall," it's obvious that your average joe could do just as good of a job.
