    McNair awaits return of O'Donnell

    By JEFF LEGWOLD
    Staff Writer

Titans quarterback Steve McNair expects to see Neil O'Donnell at Baptist Sports Park soon and McNair believes that bodes well for his own play.

''Just his love for the game, you can't ask for better than that,'' McNair said. ''I'll be glad when we get him back. He looks at things positive, not always negative.''

O'Donnell, who has backed up McNair the past four seasons, was released in February in a salary-cap move. He has turned down offers from the Saints and Vikings in order to return to the Titans.

Titans General Manager Floyd Reese said he has spoken to O'Donnell several times over the past week and would like to have the veteran back before the current minicamp ends Thursday. O'Donnell is handling his side of the negotiations but has hired agent Jim Steiner in a consulting role.
