Crapitals 5-2

Even though the Sabres will probably win this one because they always do what don't expect them to do. Win the ones they are suppose to lose and visa versa....

I was thinking 5 - 2 as well, but I will go with:

Caps 3 - 2 OT

Sabres 4-3.

4-0 caps.

I really wish this game was 2 weeks ago when the team was playing better.

The Sabres are really struggling right now (which happens to be at the worst time possible seeing that we're in the middle of a vastly important home stretch 25 games before the playoffs basically), especially offensively. We simply can't score goals right now and that falls on the shoulders of Vanek, Stafford, Connolly, Pominville, Hecht, Ennis and Gerbe - that's the nucleus of the offense for this team, like it or not. If these guys don't score, we aren't winning, simple as that. Miller has played two very solid games in a row where the team has hung him out to dry because of awful offensive performances. Niedermayer, Grier and Gaustad continue to be woefully ineffective and the same can be said for Kaleta, whose only value to this team is the crucifying hits he delivers.

Defensively, Myers and Sekera are just a disaster and both are turnover-machines right now. Leopold and Montador are a good pairing and the same can to a lesser degree be said about Weber and Morrisonn who both play a very physical brand of hockey that I like a lot.

Overall, I hope the Sabres can surprise us and get the job done against an underachieving Capitals team but the way this team's playing, I have a hard time seeing how.

This is the type of game the Sabres win which just boggles the mind in comparison to the last couple.

Thanks for the recap of everything we already knew.
