If we could sign him for under 5 mill a season and he gives us 10-12 games a year for the next 3 years I'd be very very happy!

I will be the one to say this - I would rather have Whitner.

Is Sanders a much better player? No doubt. 9 games in 3 years does your team no good though. And the types of injuries he has had (like torn biceps) can be a sign of a body breaking down.

and he probably still has better stats than Whitner in those 9 games.

I'm willing to bet if he plays as a more traditional inside the box SS, he won't be as injured as much.

I would rather have OJ at any cost.

In that case, give me both. Upgrade to FS and SS!

The Buffalo News confirms that the Bills' courting of Bob Sanders indicates the team is ready to "move on" from free agent SS Donte Whitner.

Whitner has taken to Twitter to bash the Sanders visit. The Bills are kidding themselves if they think Sanders is clearly a better option than Whitner or George Wilson, but Whitner is kidding himself if he thinks he'll get the payday he's pursuing. Wilson is also a free agent, so at the very least the Bills are trying to cover themselves in the event they lose both. http://www.rotoworld.com/sports/nfl/football

Sanders' injury risk is very concerning, no doubt about that. However, a lot of this comes down to money. If they can sign Atogwe for the same amount that Whitner was demanding, then do that. If they can sign Sanders for a low price with playing-time incentives, then they could do that. I'm personally glad to hear that they are moving on from Whitner. Hopefully they can keep Wilson, though.

People are jumping on the OJ bandwagon, does this mean you want to give up on Byrd? Confused on why we need another FS when there are a million other problems on this team.

He's a game changer, end of story.

He also 30, and Byrd is just entering his 3rd year with a probowl under his belt. Would he help the team? Im sure he would, but is it worth spending money on another FS when this team has holes a LB, DL, OL, CB, etc. I dunno... just discussing.

The Bills are not the only team courting him.

he makes the Colts 100% times better. Whitner makes us no better than even Wilson, who is a converted WR...its worth a shot IMO.

He couldn't be any worse than Whitner!

I'd rather spend the next 2 Aprils building up this team through the draft over signing older, broken down former stars.

WTF does that accomplish ? We're not even close to contending.

I'm at all against signing Sanders, but if they do, they better sign Wilson as well!
