All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
He's never played in a 3-4 before. He's gonna want a nice contract, but do you spend it on a player that may not be able to make the adjustment to the defense you want to play?

Yes, he has ideal size, is effective getting off blocks, is strong, and is good v. both run and pass. He's an ideal pickup for us.
Is there a risk given he's never played in a 3-4? Yes but its one Im willing to take.

Charles Johnson would be a great FA pick up. This guy has was pretty much unblockable towards the end of the year. My only concern is he will be asking for top DE money and are the Bills willing to pay that?
Played great last year, but he's kind of a one year wonder at this point and plays in a 4-3. For an average contract i would take the chance, but i wouldn't break the bank for him.

Not exactly a one year wonder, was a terrific pass rusher at UGA, but in the pros-
50 tackles, 10 sacks, 10 PD in the two year prior to this past year. Only 24 just seems to finally be hitting his stride.

6-2 275 though would put him out of place as a 3-4 DE. If he can make the adjustment to strong side OLB though he could be a beast there. Strong at the PoA and good pass rush ability to compliment Merriman.

He seems like he can be a Tamba Hali for us.
How is he out of place? He's a few inches short but has long arms to make up for it and already has the strength to play at the POA. Moving him to OLB makes no sense since he has nowhere near the skill set to play that position.
He's not an overly athletic guy who is going to kill teams off the edge. Was never like that in Carolina, the Hali comparison is not a good one, imo.
