hopefully this is the beginning.

solid move. anyone think that the C will be handed out soon or that we just go through the season without one and make it crystal clear that this is an audition for the best players to get the C and for the worst players a chance to stay on the team.

Honestly, I do not know. I never really got into understanding the hockey salary cap. I would believe that if claimed, the prorated portion of his contract would be cap relief for the Sabres. However, if he ends up in Portland, I do not know how that impacts the cap. It's not likely he has a 2 way deal
