WGR's Paul Hamilton reported between periods that the agent for Craig Rivet asked Darcy Reiger to trade him. After the Sabres found no takers they waived him unconditionally. There was more to the report but I had just got in the car with my son and that is all we heard. Doesn't look as if TP or the new administration was behind the move.
