Chances are , the bills stick with Troup and grab one in the draft.

harris would have to be a DE in our D.. i dont know if he would fit that role. i remember him being an unstoppable force for a period there.. then he got a new contract and had some injuries and i dont know that he was ever quite the same, but others would know better than me.. i know he did get a monster contract, which is probably why he is getting cut now. he was part of some pretty good defenses though and when healthy and on top of his game, he was very warren sapp like.. ie great at penetrating the backfield with regularity and blowing stuff up.

Harris is 6'3 295, that is pretty good size for a 5 technique. If he can get to 100% he can be a factor in our hybrid defense. 5 tech when we are in 3-4, 3-tech when we move to 4-3.

From what I remember, Harris is a penetrator - much more of a fit for a 4-3.

I wanted Harris out of college but he's been hurt quite often.

I'm not sure I'd take any of these guys. Harris is ok but nothing special, Hillenmeyer would be a depth player here, especially if Merriman comes back healthy. Maybe Shaffer would be worth taking a look at but that Bears Oline was awful last season. JMO

Hell yes, that's an upgrade in our rotation. At 27 years old, he's got plenty of life left in him.

I would want him in a 4-3 defense 6 years ago! No thanks now, he's seen his best days in the NFL. Sad really, for two or three years he was defensive MVP worthy.
