All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Re: Jets release Jenkins, Gholston, Woody, and Taylor
Woody and Jenkins would be fine pickups. I'm a little surprised, but that probably gets a decent amount of salary off the books for the Jets. I have a feeling they'll again go after a couple of big names in free agency, as they have no second round pick.

A guy like Jenkins couldn't help us at NT until a draftee like Phil Taylor develops? It could take a year to get much production out of the new NT like Troup... I'd like to start winning earlier.

They still have a number of players on their own team they would like to resign that will take a lot of money to do so.
Re: Jets release Jenkins, Gholston, Woody, and Taylor
If Jenkins wasn't too expensive, I think he'd be worth investing in, for no other reason than to bring on Troup. He's a genuine NT in a 3-4, and if we want Troup to become one, he would, imho, benefit hugely from having Jenkins to learn from.
A properly fit Jenkins, is probably the best NT in the business. A couple of years ago, towards the end of the season, iirc, he was simply unstoppable. 'Force of nature' good.
