Note who the Bills didn't tender (yet)

The Bills did not tender an offer to restricted free agents QB Brian Brohm, DE John McCargo, LB Keith Ellison, CB Ashton Youboty, and RB Quinton Ganther.

The Bills still have one more day to extend tender offers, but it's noteworthy that Brohm wasn't included in Tuesday's batch. Brohm never came close to pushing for playing time last season before a disastrous performance in the season finale. An early-round QB could take Brohm's place as Ryan Fitzpatrick's backup.

This seems to be relatively noteworthy. It looks like the Keith Ellison era in Buffalo may FINALLY be over. Getting rid of the middle three guys sure would be a sign that they're moving on from the trash of the previous years. I was all for giving Brohm a chance, but at this point it's worth moving on from him too.

I think Brohm, after two horrendous games, is done as a Bill and probably done as an NFL QB this time around. Perhaps some time in minor-league ball (be it CFL, UFL or arena league) would help him regain his confidence, which was sorely lacking.

Yeah, the Ellison thing is a good thing, as is the concurrent McCargo and Youboty departures. It's obvious there is a much needed cleaning of house going on on that side of the ball. The Ganther thing, though, is a little disappointing... he showed some promise.

Agreed with everything. As far as Ganther, he came on late in the season. However, I could easily see us finding a RB (either in FA or as an UDFA) who would do just as well.

The fact the Bills did not tender Brohm is telling. A QB in this draft for sure IMO.

My 1st day ideal draft would be something like this:

            1. DE/OLB Quinn (or Dareus if Quinn does not have a good work ethic and motivation for the NFL)
            2. OLB Mike Herzlich (assuming team medically clears him)
            3. QB Colin Kaepernick (A project, but has what is needed)

They may not have tendered them because nobody knows what the new CBA will bring. They had to tender Whitner and Poz because there could be compensation for losing them. These players would not factor into compensation formulas, as far as I know.

All teams are tendering players they want to keep in spite of not knowing what the new CBA will be. They have nothing to lose by doing so.

You might need a safety in there...I don't Whitner is going to be with us next year (just my personal opinion).

They also didn't tender Jonathan Stupar.

We have Poz and Andra Davis.

                          Coleman, Batten, Moats and Merriman.

Definitely going with an LB in the 1st or 2nd round.

Atleast thats what every team is thinking also, I would not read anything into it. Its not like the world is kicking the door in to sign Brohm. Just pre draft posturing.

I still like having QB Brown on our roster. He wasn't bad at all at Troy and wondered why the hell they cut him in the first place, before getting him back.
He's got a very live arm.
