ALLEN PARK, Mich. - Even though the Detroit Lions coaches and players have a six-week break until training camp begins, that doesn't mean the free agency period is done.
Quite the contrary. If the acquisition of Ray Brown a year ago demonstrates anything, it shows that quality contributors can be picked up late in the free agency period or even after the team is already well into training camp.
Detroit head coach Steve Mariucci said the team will continue to shop in the free agent market and if they feel the can add a contributor like Brown to the roster, the Lions will pursue it....
