An interesting side note: Newton and his agents, Tony Paige and Bus Cook, had dinner with the Buffalo Bills the night before. So clearly, there is an interest there.

This shouldn't be news. They also had Jimmy Clausen visit Buffalo last year - I think they had dinner then as well. Didn't mean they were interested in drafting him, obviously.

If the Bills think he's worthy of the #3 pick, isn't it likely that they aren't alone? And isn't it possible that the Panthers interest is also serious? And then isn't it also possible that Cam could in fact go #1 or to yet another team that is willing to move up for him?

The Bills may not get the chance to draft him, and despite how some feel he's not worthy of a top 10 pick, the list of teams that don't agree with that assessment seems to be growing.

Very possible. But Cam going number 1 is not a lock yet in my mind because the same GM who will be making the pick used a high draft pick on Clausen last year. I know as fans we write players off if they don't make the pro-bowl the first year but NFL general managers think differently.

There are rumors now coming out of Carolina that there are six players Carolina is considering. The qb's Newton and Gabbert, Fairley and Bowers, and Peterson and Quinn are also now in play.

Im not dismissing it, but Im not going to read into it either.

Do you know how many players the Bills (and other teams) speak with/court in a given off-season? Over 100, let's not get excited over one reported dinner.

Cam Newton is a prospect that you are going to need to see away from the field. He has off the field concerns so you have to take him off the field and see how he reacts.

Its the same kind of test some workplaces do to people they are interviewing. How does he order his food, what kind of demeanor does he give off to the wait staff, is he impatient, distracted, etc.

If you think this was a Bills love affair meeting, rather than a mental test then I think you're fooling yourself. Cam knew it was one, Cam's people knew it was one, and I hope Buddy saw what he needed to from it.
