All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

I have no clue if there will be a lockout or not and have not heard any of the news on discussions about a new CBA but if there is a lockout I definitely don't want Newton (or maybe any other QB). Of all the positions on the field I think a rookie QB needs more guidance from day 1 than anybody else on the team. Drafting Newton (or maybe any QB) at #3 could be a huge, fatal mistake if he ends up sitting at home for some time due to a shut down. If Newton is to be successful at the pro level I think this kid needs tutoring from day 1 - not time to sit.
Thoughts?
For all the education and practice each of us undergoes, the achievment of mastery is ultimately the outcome of a personal quest for understanding.
IF their is a lockout I don't even care if there is a draft. Hard to be excited for something that will require 16 months before you will ever see them on the field
I think Newton isn't worth the #3 pick anyway, due to the likelihood it's going to take him two years minimum to be NFL ready, if he ever is. Anything that can add to that timescale, just makes me feel it's more of a 'waste' of the pick.
While he certainly has great 'potential', the longer it takes that potential to be realised, should affect where he's taken, imho.
If there is a lockout every team and every rookie will be in the same shape.
If you don't want Newton don't hide behind the lockout as a reason.
I don't want him at all but if they draft him I'll go with it...but now with this lock out I don't want him in particular, or any other QB really, at #3. Does that sound better?

I posted this previously that any lockout or delay will basically sink any plans to Draft a QB at #3 or anywhere in the first round unless your team is already winning and you can afford to ease him in.
Contrary to the happy talk, #1 overpaid picks don't ride the bench anymore to learn, unless they're playing poorly (see Maybin). The Rams Bradford wasn't going to play for a while either and that plan lasted about 10 minutes.
