Necessity = LB more than CB
Talent = Peterson>Von Miller

Ugh...Von Miller.

I don't agree with this mock thus far.. I still think Carolina will end up taking Blaine Gabbert and Newton would be available in this spot, in which case I would take Cameron Jordan.

But playing by the rules-- Newton is already gone.. So in this scenario, my pick is Blaine Gabbert.

Though I would really like our very own Warren Sapp/Vince Wilfork type nasty D-lineman in Nick Fairley, he's more of a gamble.

Miller.

I agree completely with you regarding Gabbert going to Carolina. Rivera just gushed about Gabbert and only spoke high of Newton. I think if they go QB it will be Gabbert.

Based on who is there I would say the Bills go with Miller. Miller will make everyone around him look better. From what I hear Miller looks like another Derrick Thomas.

If the Bills did end up taking Von Miller, wouldn't he be playing the same exact position as Merriman?

The question to ask though is has he done more or less than a rookie coming in? At least we know he can get some pressure on the QB. We have no idea what Miller would do.

You can say that about any rookie.

Why draft Dareus? We don't know that he will be better than Edwards or Carrington.

Peterson? Maybe he won't be better than Florence, McGee or McKelvin.

I thought he came on strong in the second half of the season and seemed to have a knack for making plays. For a rookie I thought he played great and could grow into a really nice player.

If they think Von Miller is going to be a super special player then fine, but I just think there are better prospects and other positions I would like to see upgraded before replacing Moats.

this draft is pretty freaking shallow for elite talent.

Darius, Peterson and maybe AJ Green are about it. I'll never take a CB at 3, i'd turn in my fan card if they go WR, and Darius is gone. My choice would be a trade down... as the Cards need a QB desperately; and with Cinci's issues with Palmer, need to jump them...

Trade down - the h*ll with that value chart - and grab a couple of the top OL prospects.

I'm pretty tired of the Bils's definition of LT and RT...Left Turnstile and Right Turnstile. They have Woods and Levitre to build something on.

After that, some decent-sized front 7 players.

Here's the LB corps the Bills started for several years:

I was just listening to ESPN 1st draft with Kiper & McShay. McShay has Peterson as the 3rd best player in the draft behind Miller.

Both Kiper & McShay have Peterson going #7 to the 49ers unless some team jumps in front of them.

Well how do you know about ANY College player? Chan has said Coaching the Sr. Bowl was a great tool to get to know those guys better than would otherwise be possible.

Chan can say anything he wants, however basing what a guy does in an exhibition game and saying that it means he'll translate well is not logical. Its basically a glorified practice or scrimmage.

Its good to see who responds well and can be coached but it doesnt tell you a whole bunch eval wise.

Its shallow all over, after Round 3 a lot of the good-mediocre talent is gone as well. Dont get me wrong some positions (WR) seem pretty deep, but most of the others are really thin.

As I've said previously, I personally think that not only is Patrick Peterson the best player available, he is also filling a NEED !!

With McGee often injured, Florence and Youboty free agents, do we really want to start Corner opposite McKelvin?

Outside of Dareus, no DL is worth the No3.

We also have with No34 and No68 the opportunity to climb as high as No20 on the draft value board - possibilities of Jordan, Heyward or Wilkerson here.

Peterson and one from Jordan, Heyward, Wilkerson would be a fantastic first day, even if we then wait until Day3 for the rest of our draft.

Well, Todd McShay for one has Miller rated as a better player than Peterson & Miller fills a much greater need. If Dareus is gone, Miller should be the pick. I would still rather see the Bills trade down if possible.
