Just wanted to see what the consensus is on this question. Here is my stab at it. Cam Newton will already be playing for his 2nd team b/c they didn't baby him enough. I also see him be about as productive as Vince Young, matter of fact, perhaps a bit better.

If drafted by the Bills, in 5 years hopefully he will be the premier QB in the NFL. If not with the Bills he isn't even talked about in 5 years accept for draft time when they discuss the dangers of taking a QB with limited experience to be a franchise pick. lol Bottom line, if he is drafted by the Bills, your going to want him to succeed here. If he fails, the team does too. That's the bad thing about drafting a QB at 3. JMO

in 5 years cam newton will be out of the league.

he wont be bagging groceries yet however.....

in 10 years he will have run out of money. after his first 3 years in the league he was released his initial signing bonus has finally been squandered. he has been working at kroegers for 2 years now and is about to make assistant manager

Nobody knows. Someone will guess right here, but only because the guesses cover about every possibility. Unless you're God, there's no way of knowing.

is scheduled to be on some reality show about washed up athletes trying to show the world they didn't suck on their first chance.

i'm torn on cam. i don't want him, i think there may be upside, but i don't think the bills need him. every year there will be great QB choices. the bills, even by addressing the defense, will not be incredibly better next year, but they'll continue to be on their path to recovery. luck could be there next year and the bills most likely will be picking high again.

if they have their defense locked down with key players this year, they could be in the position to trade up.

If the bills can move up to the top 20 in the run defense category and keep their current offensive production, I'm thinking they will be picking out of the top 10.

No chance Luck is there when we pick next year, he will be gone at #1 unless he has a major injury this season. As far as great QB's coming out every year, maybe 2 a draft and if your not picking in the top five it's tough to get one.

i'm not so sure the bills won't be in the top 5 again next year.

the bills got a lot better last year, but their defense is atrocious and it sounds like they are still implementing a new defense after the george edwards defense fell flat.

i think even with studs, it'll take a year or 2 to break in.

The best damn Subway manager in the county darn tootin'!

As stated before, he truly is boom or bust, but who isn't? I'll jokingly say out of the league as a sub-jockey, but he will either be a star or a backup in 5.

Why does everyone think Wannstedt is going to be so good? He was fired from a second tier college program.

No - he was purged because the mucks that call the shots for the U of Pit football program weren't happy with his revitalizing their program but not winning a big one. They canned him, but he loyally stayed in a lesser position. Then Pit found out that the crumb they hired as a replacement was not the savior they wanted.

They likely wanted Wanny to coach, but he declined, out of a decency for whoever they wanted to name for their future coach.

I think that the Bills' acquisition of him is a plus.

Well said!! And btw, I think he'll succeed here too. I think the majority of Bills fans feel the same way I do, but they just don't wanna see him succeed Chan Gailey.
