    Gailey comments again on top 2 QB's

    It's possible that it's smoke and mirrors, but I think chances are good it's not.

    Don Banks has us picking Cam Newton and reports:

    "Chan Gailey couldn't have been any clearer in his answer to my question last week at the coaches' media breakfast in New Orleans: He believes both Gabbert and Newton are ready to play now in the NFL, and they have the skill sets of franchise-level quarterbacks. I don't think Gailey and Bills general manager Buddy Nix are doing much bluffing these days, because they're pretty sure at least one of the draft's top two passers will be waiting for them at No. 3"

    Yeah, I read that. Banks thinks the Bills are taking him at 3. Last year around this time, he had Bradford, Suh, and G. McCoy going in that order, and he nailed it. Quite a few Mocks had that draft order. This year it seams the mocks from these guys seem to be more sporadic which I think is a byproduct of the lockout, but most have Newton to the Bills at 3.

      Doesnt mean he wants them. Obviously theres a lot of people who think that, if they are being considered this high, doesnt mean he'll take them....he effing better not

                He's said multiple times they dont have a long term solution for a franchise QB. They have said multiple times now they think both have franchise ability.

                IMO its a lock we are taking one of these two at 3 and the only thing that can stop is Denver trading out

                    Which is exactly why I don't buy all this talk of the Bills loving Newton. It would make a team that wants a QB try very hard to jump in front of the Bills. I think it is more likely they are hoping someone will do that so they can take Darius.

                      There are no guarantees, of course, but the general wisdom of the NFL, that Nix at least seems to buy into is that if you think you can pick a franchise QB you do it.

                        The Bills are not going to be drafting Newton.... don't waste your time thinking about it.

                            He meant both have the talent to be franchise qb's, but decision making in a 2 second range will determine if they become one and he does not know if they will be able to succeed there. He also can't determine this from a meeting, just get clues.
