An NFL GM says ....

“If you’re telling me I have to bet the future of my team and my job on one of these guys, I would be really nervous. It’s tough enough to take a quarterback to begin with. But then you put these guys in the equation? No, thanks.”

Right along I've said I don't really want the Bills to take a QB at #3 overall. At the same time, I said if Nix and Gailey are sure that the one still available at #3 is a franchise QB, they should take him, but if they're wrong, They weill pay for it with their jobs in a couple years. If I could put that in a quatrain I'd be Nostradamus.

I said this in December... and i'll say it again.

none of the QBs in this draft rate better then a mid 2nd rounder.

I don't know... i probably would have liked David Carr more then anyone in this class (which really isn't saying much, as i had Carr a high 2nd rounder in 2002)

Been saying this forever. I was a little intrigued with Newton, but soured once I saw his ten foot over throws at the combine. Gabbert is just a bum.

Dareus, Peterson, or Miller.

Bills should wait on the quarterback. They're very likely not going to make the playoffs again in the 2011-12 season anyways. In that light, Fitzpatrick is fine for holding down the fort for another year.

Maybe a good experienced quarterback will be available in free agency after this next season, or someone better in the college draft? Last thing the Bills need is a gimmicky "running" quarterback - let's get someone with solid throwing and judgment skills in the position. I infer from what I've read that both Nix and Gailey are lukewarm on Cam Newton.

Unfortunately, I am concerned that Ralph Wilson Jr. could overrule Nix/Gailey and force Newton on the team. Wilson seems to love the flashy quick fixes rather than building for the long term.

This whole draft is beginning to look like the class of 02.

How can we wait for a QB? If we take one, he'll sit on the bench and learn while our defense still gives up 30+ points and 200+ yards rushing. During the year with the new guy playing exactly 0 snaps, we'll really add 5-8 wins to our 4 wins from last year!

if we address the defense, the team will get so good that we won't be able to draft high again and get a QB we need.

/sarcasm off.

our first round guy should be able to see the field this year and he should be on defense without responsibilities of tackling a WR. I can't make this any easier on one bills drive.

I'd rather get a bust making the right move, than taking a bust on the wrong guy.

Not necessarily a bad thing, some good defensive players came out of that draft.

Peppers, Henderson, Freeney, Haynesworth. You just have to avoid the Ryan Sims', Wendell Bryants and Bryan Thomas'.

Well of course. It's only fitting to have a crappy draft class when the Bills actually have a top 5 pick.

With how uncertain things are looking with this class right now, the only picks at #3 I would feel really good about are Dareus or Peterson. Otherwise, I would rather trade down.

Anyone taking bets that the nearly 93 year old Ralph Wilson will probably "Spillerize" this draft, and put Gailey and Nix in the back seat once again?
