    My 2011 Mock Draft

Hey guys. I'm a daily reader of the board and I'd like to thank all you guys for making this the best Bills message board on the internet!

**Bills trade #3 overall (2200 points) to MIN for #12 overall (1200 points), #43 overall (460 points), and 2012 3rd round pick (210 points).
TRADE: I have to thank coach Sal for this one. It's great to hear that the Bills would be willing to trade down for the right price and I feel as though this draft is the perfect storm for that scenario. With the lockout still in full effect, no teams will be able to acquire players and if any team needs just one player to put themselves over the edge, it is the Vikings. With that said, I think picks #1 and #2 will involve either Newton or Gabbert and Dareus and with the Vikings having such a glaring hole at signal caller, one would have to believe that they'd pounce on the chance to leapfrog all of the quarterback needy teams and potentially draft a franchise cornerstone at quarterback.

    #1 (12 overall)
    CAMERON JORDAN DE CAL

The Bills seem to covet Jordan and with a trade down, the pick would come down to either the Cal product or JJ Watt. I believe that Watt will not be around at the no. 12 pick, but that will not be a problem at all for Buddy Nix and company as they will be able to pick this tenacious, hard working, "dog" of a player.

    #2 (34 overall)
    RYAN MALLETT QB ARKANSAS

Paul Newman and Jim Kiick never met. “Sorry to ruin your column,” Kiick said. What better time to step into the new world order of a blog than with a ruined column? The blog comes, at l…

Ryan Mallett is one of the most polarizing prospects in years. With that said, he could also become one of the biggest draft steals in NFL history. The Bills are doing their due dillegence on quarterback prospects this off-season which leads me to believe that Chan Gailey would be willing to pull the trigger on who he believes could be his franchise quarterback. According to NFLdraftbible, the Bills are among three teams investigating Mallett "heavily." If the Bills believe that Mallett is a pretty clean person off the field, they would almost have to draft him as his tools are almost impossible to pass up. In one off season, Chan Gailey transformed perennial back up Ryan Fitzpatrick, a guy with fairly limited potential, into a solid quarterback. Just picture what Gailey could do with a Mallett's boundless potential.

    #3 (43 overall)
    KELVIN SHEPPARD ILB LSU

Sheppard is another prospect that Buffalo is quite high on this year. He fits what seems to be the Buddy Nix mold: he's a senior (who played four seasons of SEC football), a team leader, and a highly productive player.

    #4 (68 overall)
    LUKE STOCKER TE TENNESSEE

    #5 (100 overall)
    BRUCE MILLER OLB UCF

    #6 (122 overall)
    DEREK HALL OT STANFORD

Ultimately, Hall knows how he’s viewed and where he sits. His attention is not on the past but on what he can do in the next two months to improve his draft stock.

He's not my first choice either, but I read something recently that made me think that suggestions of off field issues are overblown. I think if the Bills drafted him they'd want to work on his movement issues and place a priority on protecting him, but there is something there they work with.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

Yea, supposedly most of his off the field stuff is pretty overblown and he has been born and bred to toss the pig skin. Dave Hyde at the Sun Sentinel wrote an almost autobiography about Mallett making it seem that way. http://weblogs.sun-sentinel.com/spor...ies_and_1.html

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. This is not a draft I would be pleased with. I wouldn't move down that far and I don't like Mallett. The balance of the draft is pretty good.

No thanks on Mallet. He's slow even for slow quarterbacks. Remember how cement foot Bledsoe was? Mallet is much MUCH slower than Bledsoe.

I love when we get close to the draft and people feel the need to come up with crazy selections just to be different since we have been seeing the same top 5s over and over.

I like the rest of the draft though.....

I'd like to say that I'm far from a derelict, but that is an interesting thought that people who do not do an entire seven round mock draft are. The mock draft world is chalk full of derelicts apparently! I did the draft in that format because it is hard to project what players will fall to rounds 5-7. I originally only provided rounds 1-4 just to show what the top of the Bills draft could look like if they wound up trading down and generally players taken in those rounds make the most impact. Since you are much more experienced board member here and I don't want to start of on the wrong foot, I will add on to my mock draft.
