As I'm sure you're aware, a lot of mocks have your choices for picks two and three reversed. Why do you think you're right and they're wrong? I'm not challenging you. I'm just curious about your reasoning.

As you know John Fox (Denver's HC) is a defensive minded guy, so naturally defense is going to be his selection but when you look at his first round picks while in Carolina;

2002-DE Peppers
2003-OT Gross
2004-CB Gamble
2005-LB Davis
2006-RB Williams
2007-LB Beason
2008-RB Stewart
2009-No 1st Rounder
2010-No 1st Rounder

What do you see as the trend? He goes after athletic prospects who can make impacts all over the field. Does Dareus fit that mold? Not really, but who does? Von Miller is a perfect fit for what Fox likes to do with his defenses. Multiple looks, formations, and variances. I think (and Ive heard) Denver really likes Dareus a lot but they LOVE Von Miller.

I have Sherrod over him, hence he goes to PIT at 30, and Castonzo to Round 2.

I heard John Fox on the radio here in Denver a few weeks ago talking really highly about Von Miller and the different ways you can use him. A lot of the local guys seems high on Miller too and think he's definitely in play with the #2 pick so it wouldn't be surprising to me if he ends up a Bronco. I would probably still put my money on Dareus, but who knows.

I really hope things fall this way as I would love to see the Bills get Dareus.

I have to say, if we get Dareus 1 and Costanzo two, like your Mock says, for the first time in 20 years I can truly say we can actually win the game in the trenches. Take Dalton, Stanzi or Kaepernick in the 3rd and I call that a fantastic draft.

Define drastic.

I'm telling you, it's a smokescreen. If he goes #1 overall, it won't be to the Panthers.

I could see Dareus being available at #3, the camera pans to Dareus who is on his cell phone, Bills fans start getting super excited, and then it's announced that the Bills have traded the #3 pick.

He could go late 1st-mid 2nd, he isnt falling that far. Not with his size and speed. He's one of the best WR's in this draft.

He's one of the best WR's in this draft.Yeah but with the reported attitude problems and charges against him, a team may not want to look at his as their immediate answer at WR. I would see them wanting to pencil him in as the #2 and seeing how he handles the game. He has the talent, but a team late in the 1st would be spending their top pick on a guy who could end up being a distraction and character problem. Maybe a team like NE with multiple picks... they have a bit of a need.

If we got Dareus in Round 1, Costanzo in Round 2, that would be the best 1-2 combo since I can remember.

Costanzo is going to be a very solid RT. He's a smart, smart dude. Kirwin/Ryan absolutely love the guy. He was on today and sounded like a coach.

He's got too much to offer as a potential LT and is in consideration for the top OT taken with Tyron Smith, IMO. I think were looking at someone like Derek Sherrod in round 2 with a slim chance at Gabe Carimi (very unlikely).

But if you're a QB named Newton, it's worth the risk. Right?

Don't see Denver taking Miller and passing on Dareus.

1. Dareus is the better fit in a 4-3

2. They already have a smallish pass rusher in Dumervil

X-Era

But if you're a QB named Newton, it's worth the risk. Right?Newton doesn't seem like he will be a problem, this guy has much more substantial red flags... but who knows. To say it another way, a team that drafts Newton will be convinced he won't be a problem or that it's unlikely. they won't draft a guy that high if they aren't convinced. A team could draft Baldwin realizing that it's much more likely that he will have problems, hence why he will slip.

Some of you need to realize that simply because I mock something doesnt necessairly mean I think its going to happen. As I explained last year its meant to show new scenarios based on new rumors/thoughts and some things that I truly believe could happen. Its meant to further thoughts and discussions because too often people on this board get player or position centric, where only that player/position will do no matter what.

The only mock I do for accuracy is the one the morning of the first round, other than that its just a mental excercise.

There are a few parts of this mock that I feel very strongly about and few that I have no idea about, and others that Im purposely dropping or raising a player just to see if people notice/say anything.

I would love it if things fell this way.

1st. Dareus, Miller, Peterson are the 3 guys I want for the first pick, in that order too.

2 You have locker, Mallett, Dalton, Ponder Costanzo and Can't remember maybe rudolph still there too. Great selection for only 1 pick to go before we pick.

If this came to be, I'd seriously try a trade back a few spots, if no takers I'd go locker or mallett though, although a real TE or Costanzo would be really tempting
