in a trade with my Saints to grab QB Jake Locker at #24.

Buffalo now owns the pick after trading with New Orleans. The Bills give up picks 100, 122 and 133, which equal 190 points on the trade chart, and the Saints also receive the 34th overall pick. With the 24th pick, the Bills take Locker.

i repeat, a team with as many additions needed, it is very hard to give up 3 picks for a guy who will ride the pine.

the bills brass can talk all they want about how they don't plan to pick at three again, but history and the fact even a good defensive draft will take at least a year for people to get up to level means we'll be picking top 15 next year at the very least.

I like Locker but damn that would be a lot

I have said it so many times and, well just for the hell of it, I'll say it again.

We will NOT trade up or back. If we do, it will be back, not up. This FO wants it's own damn players, not mistakes of the past. If we give up picks, then this organization is going in the wrong direction

I agree... but it is possible. I would love that trade for the Saints. We are at our best in the middle rounds.

in a trade with my Saints to grab QB Jake Locker at #24. I don't see it. If Locker is hanging around at #34 the Bills might pick him, but if not they may just as easily look for another QB. As others have observed, a team with as many needs as Buffalo, can't go frittering away draft picks without a compelling reason and Locker's not a compelling reason.

Buddy Nix would need body guards if he made that move.

I don't like it. But I agree that's about where Locker will go. Kirwan expects Seattle to take him at 25 which is what that is about.

As smart as Kirwin is, this is just another example of the national media types not knowing the Bills as well as we do.

Here is how I see it. I can tell you that Pete Carroll (Seattle's HC) is well versed with Locker because of his ties to the West Coast, and there have been rumors that Carroll is very high on him and is looking for a QB to replace Hasselbeck. If Locker is Buddy Nix's guy, he is going to get him. Seattle picks at 25 (right after the Saints), so that is the place to make the trade.

This may have more merit than peopel think...

I hope for your sake this does not come to pass I really do. But if it does would it be too much trouble to ask you to video yourself eating your own eyes?

I wouldn't mind locker in the 2nd but don't give up picks to move up for a QB

get Defense then see who falls and go from there.....

If the Bills pass on QB in round 1 I would rather wait and take the best guy they like at QB in round 2 then and not trade.

Not sure when Nix said "we will build through the draft " meant giving our picks away.

04-13-2011, 01:46 PM
i just don't think anyone values these qb's as "we need to move to get them". As a result, i think if a qb is there when you pick, you might take them. i can't imagine trades happening to pick this crop of QB's. just my opinion.

then again, rumor is, we tried to trade back into the 1st rd. last year so who knows?

I like Locker and i think he is moving up boards....
He is finally healthy.
But this team CAN NOT give up any picks in this draft..........

Give up 3 picks to move up 8 spots? No. We better be done with that draft strategy after it has yielded two duds and who knows how much opportunity lost with wasted picks.

There was a QB left where the Bills would have drafted in 2005 had they not traded away their first rounder to get Losman in 2004. Anybody know who Aaron Rogers is?

If the Bills trade back from #3 and pick up extra picks then I can accept a move back up into the 1st...

but they can't afford to give up the picks they do have to move up IMO

Locker will be there at #34. No reason to trade up for him.

Now if the Saints want to trade their 1st rounder for the Bills 5,6,7 and next years 5,6, and 7, I'm all for it.

Ed

So we're essentially using a total of 4 picks, our 2nd, both our 4th's, and our 5th to draft Jake Locker? That's just dumb. We'd be better off just using our #3 pick on him if we're going to be stupid and waste picks.

I told you all two weeks ago it was Quinn then Locker or Ponder.

Johnny Bugmenot
04-13-2011, 05:01 PM
If this happens, it will confirm that the Buffalo Bills remain stuck on stupid.

They need to look at J. P. Losman-- you know, Seattle's third-stringer-- and remember what happened the last time they traded back up into the first.

If you trade up, trade up with your first pick, not your second. Turn your good pick into an elite pick. But garbage trade-ups like that are how you end up with Losmans and John McCargos... and Willis McGahees...

If the Bills do anything remotely that stupid I will not renew my NFL ticket. Locker=Losman. I would not even spend a 2nd round pick on him let alone move up, LMFAO.

After watching Jon Gruden's little videos with Locker, Mallet, and Dalton, I wouldn't be upset with any of them in RD2.

I don't agree with this "trade" on many levels, none so more than the this..

Locker will be gone when the Saints are on the clock.. Hell, he may not get past the 10th pick.. You watch.

So, according to Kirwin, we get Von Miller and Jake Locker in the first, but then give up our 2nd, 3rd and both 4ths?

Sounds moronic to me.

Bill Cody
04-14-2011, 04:16 PM
It baffles me how the Bills are always in a big hurry to do the dumbest things ever. It's not bad enough we pick more busts than a 5th avenue ladies clothing store but we have to pay a premium for them. When you have the talent level this roster has why not sit back and let the ****ing draft come to you? A drunk dart throwing monkey could make better picks than we have for the last decade. I'm getting a little queasy just thinking about us trading up. It's like watching Charlie Brown try to kick the football. Enough already.

in a trade with my Saints to grab QB Jake Locker at #24.
lol Sounds like a move a rookie GM would make. It won't happen. There are too many QBs in this draft who are arguably just as talented as he is to warrant any team giving up that much for Locker, let alone Buffalo. I just don't see it as realistic. Pat Kirwan must have Buddy Nix confused with Levy, or Brandon. lol
