Can a convicted felon (Vick) cross the international boundary?

Can a convicted felon (Vick) cross the international boundary?

Good question, but I'm sure they'll figure something out. If not the Bills could be playing against Kafka :)

To my knowledge as long as the conviction was not drug related and as long as the person is no longer on probation.

I am not sure on that. I know people who have been convicted of DWI have a very hard time getting across.

Would alcohol not be a drug? :idunno:

Not an illegal drug.

It will not be easy for Vick.

In general, an individual is inadmissible if they:

Were convicted of an act outside of Canada that Canada considers a crime.

Were convicted of a crime in Canada.

Committed any act or omission that either country considers a crime whether or not they were convicted.

CRIMES THAT QUALIFY
All felonies and most misdemeanors are included in the list. For the most part, unless they are serious felonies that could be tried as an adult in either country, juvenile convictions are not considered.

As mentioned above, an individual may still be denied entry even if their case was dismissed.

This means every individual who received a deferred sentence, deferred prosecution, or stipulated continuance should apply.

He will need to fill out a special application.

Won't be easy but I am sure the league has at least looked into it.

It has nothing to do with probation . There are certain crimes that make you permanently inadmissable to both the Us and Canada, drugs is definately one, but there are many, many more. The fact that he was charged with serious felonies for lying and did serious time means he is likely inadmissable, but not definately. That being said, Canada does offer waivers of inadmissability (as does the US) for a substantial fee for certain crimes.

I am fairly sure this will be the case.

Good! I didn't want to lose another division game at home and it's nice to give up a NFC game that means absolutely nothing.

Although, I will miss not being able to boo the dog killer and taunt him. :sigh:

No games during the regular season are meaningless - just a little less significant than divisional ones.

Sucks for Buffalo to miss out on Vick.

Vick will have a hard time getting over the border, but I'm sure the Eagles and the NFL will figure it out.

On another angle, I think it gives us a decent chance for a night game, since the league already has a vested interest in promoting the TO game.

Looks like the Fan was wrong. It's the skins in Toronto.

To my knowledge as long as the conviction was not drug related and as long as the person is no longer on probation. It can't be a crime of "moral turpitude"

Week 8 vs. Redskins
The Bills will call Toronto home once again when they host the 'Skins at Rogers Centre on the last weekend in October.

I'm betting that the NFL wanted to send the Eagles to Toronto and then were told he wouldn't be allowed across the border. Either way....lol@Toronto. That's another crappy game. Good luck selling that one out.

Maybe the Bills will have home field advantage for a change in To.
