Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett did not show up for a meeting with the Carolina Panthers earlier this month during an official pre-draft visit to Charlotte, N.C.

Mallett met team officials for dinner April 8, the day he arrived in town, but meetings the next day at Bank of America Stadium were cancelled after Mallett called and said he was sick, multiple sources told the National Football Post.

I will repeat what I put out on Twitter minutes ago.

Im not saying the NFP story is right or wrong, all Im saying is that misinformation is EVERYWHERE. Be warned.

Especially after 14 beers, 8 vodka tonics, 4 shots of tequila and 2 shots of whiskey.

That always makes me sick.

that would have made me sick even in my prime - unless I lose the ability to count after like 15 drinks...

I start to feel it after my 5th Capri Sun. I can't even imagine how many Mallett must've had.

Who seriously thinks Carolina's going with Ryan anyway? If they aren't going with a QB in round 1, then why try and get another second-rate rookie when you already have a second-rate sophomore in Jimmy Clausen?

i'm sure if you went on a bender at your night out with the club, but didn't call in sick, they'd be real impressed to pick you. /Sarcasm off.

This story proves Mallett would be perfect in Buffalo. Post-game benders on Chippawa St? EPIC!!

Everything about Mallet is starting to remind me of a QB that use to play in Buffalo.

Im starting to think that alllllll this stuff is misinformation in the hopes of him sliding down teams' draft board. There is absolutely NOTHING being reported on him that's positive, aside from the people who actually know him and have worked/played with him. I think he's going a LOT earlier than people expect him to. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he went in the top half oif the 1st round.

So .... he did show up for the meeting? He wasn't out drinking last night?

I know it's his agent speaking here, so I'm keeping that in consideration, but still... I'm hesitant to buy all this crap. He's consistently been talked about as being the most pro-ready QB of the bunch.

“I’ll tell you this — Ryan was in his hotel room by about 10 o’clock,” Carroll said.

Carroll said Mallett did meet with Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski the next morning, but he had to miss the rest of that day’s planned meetings — because he had genuinely fallen ill, not because he was hung over or bleary-eyed from a long night out.

As long as he's off the board before 34 that works for me

As we get closer and closer to the draft, the more I hope that we take this guy. I think there has been some serious character assassination going on with Mallet. No way he lasts til 34. Hopefully we're able to trade back to 10 or 12. I would have no problem with us taking him there.

lol Love how the title of this thread tries to spin it into something controversial, when the actual read up is anything but.

You've been defending Mallett a lot in the last week.. This is obviously preemptive planning on your part..You're convinced the Dolphins are taking Mallett
