    The Official Anyone but Blaine Gabbert Thread

    I have three rationale for this thread. Nothing scientifiv

    1) I am no guru, but I haven't seen anything that makes me think Gabbert is a special talent.

    2) His name is Blaine Gabbert

    3) I jus't don't lke him.

    Frankly, I want Von Miller or they should trade down.

    Based on #3, I have no problem with this opinion. I disagree with #1, but I can understand some just won't like the guy. I have guys that I just don't want, and personally I think thats fine.

          I'm with you. I never even heard of this dude until after the season, now he is Top-3 material? Read this column about a former scout (part of 5 SB teams) to see what he thinks of Gabbert and Newton:

              Well, even though I am as much anti-Gabbert as you are... that may be the best of his qualities, considering the other names: Locker, Ponder, Mallet(t), and we narrowly missed having Luck in this draft. You could have picked those names out of a dictionary.

              And yeah, I know, I've brought this up before.

                Totally true. First-round QBs are such a crap-shoot, which is why I think Buffalo can't afford to gamble on one.

                      Everyone has an opinion including myself. But drafting solely on opinion and feeling alone would get a lot of teams in trouble. JMO

                        I'll go steps further. All I've seen him do is check down. If you can't air it out in college you're in for trouble in the NFL. He's bad when there is pressure. His footwork is horrific. He never played under center, always in shotgun. His mechanics IMO, look weird. If you watched his pro day all of his deep balls were short and the uncovered receiver had to wait for the ball.

                        Eerily this guy reminds me of Trent Edwards and looks like Ron Johnson. Coupe that with his college stats and I wouldn't touch him till the third round if at all.

                              So we have a Bills scout and several analysts telling us how much they like him but we ignore it?

                              I'm fine with any opinion... I take it as just that. I just think many here need to brace themselves for whatever happens on draft day. And if the pick is Gabbert, in a few years we may be very glad we took him.
