SALT LAKE CITY -- A Utah man charged with bilking dozens of Fiesta Bowl fans with bogus ticket sales on the Internet was arrested Saturday after being stopped for speeding.
Mark S. Beaver, 48, of Salt Lake City, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. in Sandy, Utah, a suburb about 20 miles south of the capital city, a spokesman for the state attorney general said. Authorities have been looking for Beaver since January, when he was charged with three second-degree felony counts of communications fraud.
"We missed him a few times, once in Wendover (Nev.), and we believe he was in California,'' said Polly Samuels, an assistant attorney general with the state's cybercrimes task force.
Beaver had previously worked in Salt Lake City as a ticket broker. "So we're not surprised he's back in Utah,'' Samuels said.
