Jovanovski would be nice - on a one or two year deal. Bieksa would be nice too but could be expensive.

Slim pickings on centers except for Richards.

hey, i'm just throwing it out there. i heard a rumor that pegula really wants patrick kane on buffalo and that the blackhawks wouldn't let him go for anyone but enroth. so why not miller?

that makes more sense. i don't like miller and would rather see enroth in the goal. it would make me want to watch them more. miller is another reason why i have only watched the sabres on and off in the past 4 years. i can't stand the goals he lets in when he's out of position.

They were at about 57 million this year.

Next year they are at about 41million with 13 guys under contract.

So they will add about 9 players.

Some of those are their own RFA (Stafford, Butler, Gerbe, Gragnani, Sekera and Weber)

Say 4.5 for Stafford. Maybe 7 million total for the other 5 guys. So that takes them to 52.5 with 20 guys. It would be nice to bring back McCormick who is an UFA. He would be a million or less. So 52.5 for 21 guys.

That will leave about 6-7 for one more player (figure the cap is about 61-62 million and there need to leave room for call ups in the regular season and trades).

Of course if they move somebody like Hecht, they can replace that players salary with new acquisitions.

And my guesses for some of the RFAs might be off.

Any extension for Myers will not impact his cap hit next year.

I think there are several that you don't touch unless the offer is very good, like Ennis.

We will need to keep a bunch of the average players if we are going to go after a couple of studs. With Vanek and Miller's contract along with the money we will need to pay Myers, we won't have much money left unless we have a couple lines of average players.

i'd trade miller for keith straight up tbh, not that it would ever happen.
